Travel from the U.S. to Belgium:

As of May 23 2022, COVID-19 measures will only apply to travelers coming from a very high risk country. The U.S. is not considered a very high risk country.

Please note that airlines decide under which conditions they carry passengers. We recommend you enquire about those conditions before booking your flight.

Travel from Belgium to the U.S.:

Fully vaccinated individuals can travel. A negative COVID-19 test result is no longer required. The details on the proof of vaccination are explained on the website of the U.S. Department of State

Belgian citizens and (former) residents are encouraged to contact their Belgian family doctor in order to register their U.S. vaccination in the Belgian database and to obtain an EU Digital Covid Certificate. More information can be found here. U.S. residents are eligible to travel from the U.S. to Belgium.

Please note that airlines decide on the conditions under which they carry passengers. The Belgian Embassy and Consulate Generals have no influence over their decision.
We therefore recommend that you enquire with your airline about the conditions that they apply before booking your flight.

Can I travel ?

As of November 8, 2021, all fully vaccinated persons are able to travel from Belgium to the U.S. The details on the proof of vaccination and the pre-departure COVID-test are explained on the website of the U.S. Department of State. The limited exceptions to the vaccination requirement are listed here.  

Please contact the U.S. Embassy in Brussels to know which visa services are currently available given the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the resumption of visa services.

2.2 What are the COVID-19 related health measures in place?

A test within 3-5 days after arrival is recommended for vaccinated travellers and required for non-vaccinated travelers (in an axception category). Non-vaccinated travellers should also quarantine for a full 7 days.
